Derek's Surprise Party

John and I have became friends with Derek and Shauna Hess. Derek works with John at Veracity and Shauna is a stay at home mom to their darling little girl Scarlett who is just the cutest. Well Derek's birthday was on Feb 16th and Shauna decided to throw him a surprise party since he was turning the big 30! It was a luau theme at the church building near their home. Check out the sweet cake she got him! 

Sweet right? Now how the heck was Shauna gonna get Derek to the church building? I think she told him she needed help with some Relief Society stuff and he had to go. HAHA But hey it worked! So before they came we turned off all the lights and would turn them on when they walked in. Well one of I think Shauna's grandparents says "Why we sittin here int he dark?" it was ssoo funny and we all busted out laughing. Well once they got there we all yelled SURPRISE! He had no idea. Way to go Shauna! So we had some yummy food and later some luau dancers came. Of course they had the haka and John was apart of. It was so fun seeing him up there dancing away! 

Overall it was a fun night! Happy Birthday Derek!
